BETTER LUBRICATION AND LESS WEAR WITHOUT OIL CHANGES

micfil ultrafine filters for engine and transmission oil

  • Removes solid contaminants down to 0.5 μm
  • Up to 20 times better filter performance than standard filters
  • Improves lubrication capability
  • Prolongs life span by reducing wear
  • Gives better engine output through less friction
  • Conventional oil changes are obsolete
  • Additives are not filtered out and through ultrafine filtration there is less additive consumption
  • Less maintenance and repair costs are required
  • Environmental protection is achieved by reducing oil consumption and elimination of waste oil disposal
  • Engine manufacturer’s warranty is preserved by law

micfil filters provide up to 20 times higher filter performance than standard filters

micfil Oil filtration with micfil ultrafine filter for engine and transmission oil

Although the lubrication gaps in engines are between approximately 1.5 to 10 μm, the standard oil filter cannot filter out particles smaller than approximately 10 μm. International studies show, abrasion caused by particles in lubrication gap size (between 1.5 and 10 μm) is three times higher than that caused by particles larger than 10 μm. Therefore, standard filtration is not sufficient.

On average, about 15% of old contaminated oil remains in the engine after an oil change; thereby continuously increasing the number of dirt and abrasion particles during engine operation. As a result, the engine operates permanently in contaminated oil, even after an oil change. Solid particles cause further abrasion. Standard filters cannot absorb water that will cause acid formation. The micfil ultrafine filter inserts, manufactured from high quality materials, also absorb water and prevent formation of acid in the oil. The micfil ultrafine filters possess an approximately 20 times higher filtration performance than the standard filter. Dirt, combustion, oxidation, and abrasion particles down to approximately 0.5 μm in size are continuously filtered from the oil, this minimizes abrasion. The remaining smaller particles in the oil do not cause damage, but increase the load bearing capacity (lubricity) and thermal resistance of the oil thereby improving the quality of the oil.

The load bearing capacity (lubricity) and thermal resistance of the micfil ultrafine filtered and unchanged oil is markedly increased in comparison to fresh oil by enriching the oil during operation with carbon and other particles of a size that does not cause abrasion. The particles of less than approximately 1 μm remaining in the oil during micfil ultrafine filtration do not cause any damage. This actually improves the load bearing capacity (lubricity) and thermal resistance of the oil. These properties continue to improve the longer the oil is used.

micfil oil quality with micfil ultrafinefilter

Oil is a mineral and a mineral does not age. It does not wear out, breakdown or deteriorate. During it’s use oil becomes contaminated with water, acids, carbon, dirt, metal particles and sludge. The oil filter of a standard engine only removes solid particles above a certain size (approximately > 10 μm). In contrast, the micfil ultrafine filters absorb water and continuously filter out particles >0.5 μm. This prevents the formation of acids. Solid particles of less than approximately 0.5 μm remaining in the oil actually improve the lubrication properties and thermal stability of the oil.

The effects of the process become even more apparent the longer the oil is in use. An oil change is therefore not necessary in engines which are technically sound, in fact, oil changes reduce the positive effect of micfil filtration. REICHERT abrasion wear tests show improvement in the lubricating properties of the used oil in comparison to fresh oil. We recommend monitoring the technical condition of the engines at regular intervals by means of comparative oil analysis.

The oil can be used without an oil change even after 22 000 hours of operation.

The oil was only changed after approx. 24 000 hours due to a leak in the oil sump.
